Irish conductor Killian Farrell is rapidly establishing himself as one of the leading musical voices of his generation. Since 2023, he has served as Generalmusikdirektor of Staatstheater Meiningen, where his work with the renowned Meininger Hofkapelle has attracted widespread critical acclaim and led to the orchestra being named ‘Orchester des Jahres’ for the first time in its history by leading German publication Opernwelt. From the 2027/28 season, he will assume the position of Generalmusikdirektor of Staatstheater Nürnberg, further consolidating his place among Europe's foremost conductors.
